Welcome to the Charleton Parish Council website. Including both East and West Charleton, the Parish nestles in the outstanding natural beauty of the South Hams area of South Devon.
Our aim is to keep our local parishioners up to date with what's going on in the Parish and to inform our friends and visitors from outside the Parish about our attractions and local area.

Sunday 15th August Cream Teas at Bowcombe Cottage, Kingsbridge at the end of Bowcombe Creek. Bowcombe Garden is set in 1½ Acres of ground for all to explore especially designed with children in mind. Plenty of parking. Open from 2pm until 5pm (In aid of Church Funds)
An abundance of food and drink prepared by Peter and Heather, who worked very hard making the delicious cakes, scones, pasties and sandwiches for the well advertised Rectory Garden Party, was enjoyed by those who attended. A big thank you to everyone who helped out on the day. £450 was raised for St Mary's Church.
Everyone that went to the Open Day at Post Labore had a very enjoyable day with Anna and Tony Westlake as hosts. It was interesting to see how Anna and Tony have changed what was once the Village Shop and Post Office into a warm and welcoming home. £100 was raised and all proceeds are being split between Charleton Village Church and the local Hospice.
There is a Casual Vacancies on the Council- if you feel able to offer yourself as candidate please contact the Parish Clerk.
We are close to Kingsbridge, Dartmouth and Salcombe and not far from Plymouth, Totnes and Torbay. Our footpaths lead through delightful fields and lanes with spectacular views of the Kingsbridge Estuary and rolling countryside all around.
